    • Coypu: An invasive species that is hunted in the Louisiana swamplands and paid per tail. A company discovered how to actually use the animal for it’s water resistant and smooth pelts.
    • Beaver: Premium-quality material. The most expensive, water-proof, and durable of hats.

To measure your head, use a flexible tape measure. Place it around your head about 1/8 inch above your ears, across your forehead, and above your eyebrows. Make sure the tape is snug but not too tight. Click here to visit our How to Measure Your Head for a Hat page!

Custom hats start at $500 for a 160g rabbit hat. Hats start at $1000 for a 160g beaver hat. For other types of fur felt and weights, please send us a message to discuss your idea for a custom hat. We can also create a custom hat out of wool or coypu.

A custom rabbit felt hat has a non refundable deposit of $100 that goes towards the price of the hat. A custom beaver hat has a non refundable deposit of $250 that goes towards the price of the hat.

The most common mistake is pulling the tape too tight, which can result in an uncomfortable hat size. Always measure snugly but not tightly.

Use a soft, flexible tape measure, like the kind used for sewing. If you don’t have one, you can use a string and then measure the length with a ruler. Check out our Measuring Your Head for a Hat Guide!

Take the measurement three times to ensure consistency. If the measurements vary, use the largest one or average them.

While it’s possible to measure yourself, having someone help can result in more accurate measurements, especially if you struggle to keep the tape level.

Yes, some people have rounder or more oval-shaped heads. Share your head shape details with the hat maker, as this can affect the hat’s fit and comfort.

Measure your head as you would typically wear your hair with the hat. For example, if you wear your hair down or in a ponytail, consider that when measuring.

It’s best to remeasure, as we use the centimeter which we feel is the most precise.

We can offer adjustments. If your hat is too tight, it can be stretched slightly. If it’s too loose, use foam hat pads or tape inside the sweatband to improve the fit.

Just contact me. To be fair a boutique hat can be returned in it’s original condition for up to 15 days after it is delivered. A custom hat can be returned less the non-refundable deposit in it’s original condition for up to 15 days after it is delivered (return policy). Buyer pays for shipping. Again just contact me.
