Meet the Mad Hatter
Jenni LiPetri Trahan
Jenni LiPetri Trahan is a designer and maker. She has been obsessed with making things for as long as she can remember. If she has downtime, she is definitely spending it learning something new.
With an AAS in Fashion Design, and a BFA in Metalwork and Jewelry, when she decided to make hats, she also decided she would be able to teach herself.
The summer Jenni turned 40, she received a hat block from her mom for her birthday. This sparked a year of exploration into which shellac she preferred, which ribbon, which leather sweatbands, and which hat body maker. Jenni loves to find vintage hat tools, such as the vintage brim curler that was from a museum deaccession sale on Ebay.
In between her job and taking care of her two children, Jenni spends all her time making hats in her basement, or working on wood hat blocks in her garage. She even convinced her husband to start making millinery tools for her. If you work with Jenni, she will listen to you and your desires, and come up with a hat that feels like it was plucked right out of your mind’s eye.
